Technology Student Association (TSA) state game development competition, 3rd place winner; a fast-paced and educational 3D platforming game, taking the player through the path of the Olympic torch relay.

Player view of a full level

Created under the theme "2020 Olympic games," this 3D platformer was made in the Unity game engine, written in C#, with 3D models made in Autodesk Maya. Textures were created in Adobe Photoshop.

Made on a team of three members, I handled all gameplay programming, as well as 3D modeling, texturing, and integration into the Unity engine.
The player journeys through three distinct Countries, each containing three individual levels, racing to get the fastest time possible.

Although the project won the 3rd place award at the state-level competition, winning a trip to the national competition, the unfortunate outbreak and spread of COVID-19 led to the cancellation of the event.

While the game was designed to be a fun playing experience, it also included educational facts about each country present in the game, as well as telling the history of the Olympic torch relay and the history of the games as a whole.

Achievements list

The game was both a programming and design challenge, given a general prompt, my team and I were forced to come up with a creative approach to a style of game we hadn't made before.
Overall, this game was a great way for me to hone my skills in gameplay programming, character movement programming, UI and UX design, as well as different styles of 3D modeling.
